Strong Winds Cause Car Crash on Interstate 80

police-car-woodsPINE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Dubois-based State Police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Interstate 80 westbound, around the 110.1 mile marker, in Pine Twp., Clearfield County.

Police say 21-year-old Pallavi Dasari, of Sharon, was traveling in the left lane around 4:24 p.m. on May 15, when a sudden burst of hail/sleet and gusty winds occurred.

Police say the strong winds caused Dasari’s vehicle to be blown off the roadway.

Dasari lost control of her 2013 Toyota Camry, which then slid into the grassy median and down the embankment, striking the ditch at the bottom of the median. Dasari’s vehicle continued to slide across an embankment toward the eastbound lanes. Dasari regained control of her vehicle and was able to bring it to a controlled stop in the west-facing median.

Dasari was wearing her seat belt during the accident and was not injured.

Bricen Towing removed the vehicle from the scene.
