Summerville Veterans Bridge Dedication Set for Today

988457_753584821384997_7062082584097500863_n[1]SUMMERVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – The public is invited to join area veterans, local officials and State Representative Chris Dush for the dedication of the Summerville Veterans Memorial Bridge on Monday, September 7.

The ceremony kicks off at 10:30 a.m. with the unveiling of the new sign for the bridge and a parade, followed by the dedication program at 11 a.m. at the Fireman’s Park Pavilion and stage on West Penn Street.

The newly rebuilt bridge over the Redbank Creek in Summerville Borough is being dedicated in honor of the 120 veterans buried in cemeteries in Summerville, as well as all of the citizens of the borough and surrounding area who have served or are currently serving our nation in the armed forces.

The bridge was name under Act 29 of 2015, which Dush helped shepherd into law earlier this year.
