SUMMERVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – Police recently arrested a Summerville man on an outstanding warrant after a brief chase.
According to a criminal complaint, around 2:30 p.m. on August 14, Jefferson County deputies were serving arrest warrants in the Summerville area and had information that William Geer, 34, of Summerville had a warrant issued by Jefferson County Adult Probation.
Police went to a residence where Geer was staying, and as they exited their patrol vehicles, they allegedly saw Geer running in the field behind the residence, the complaint states.
Geer was ordered to stop several times but allegedly did not comply with those commands. After a foot pursuit, Geer was taken into custody, the complaint continues.
Geer faces a charge of Flight To Avoid Apprehension/Trial/Punishment, Felony 3.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. in front of District Magisterial Judge Gregory M. Bazylak.
