Suvillia Mae (Mazie) Siegel

Siegel, MazieSuvillia Mae (Mazie) Siegel, 68, of Maple St. Brookville, Pa. died Sunday March 8, 2015 at her residence.

Born Dec. 29, 1946 in Fairmont City, Clarion County, PA. She was the daughter of the late Darl E. Schrecengost and Sadie S. (Alexander) Schrecengost. ‘Mazie’ graduated from Redbank Valley High School in 1964.

She married Francis Siegel on Aug 3, 1968 they were married for 47 years.

She owned and operated Bookworm Corner for over 30 years.

People visited her at the store because she always made them feel welcomed and special by using her unmatched ability to remember every name face and her customer’s interest.

She is survived by her husband, Francis and three children: Veronica Condron and her husband Duane of Greensburg, Robert Siegel and Mary K. of Saxonburg, and Adam Siegel of Brookville, PA.

Also surviving are five grandchildren: Paige Siegel, Sadie Siegel, Christopher Condron, Matthew Condron and Ethan Siegel. Seven siblings: Darl Schrecengost (Martha) of Fairmont City , James Schrecengost (Diane) of Brookville, Dee Reed (Bill) of Clarion, Blanche Phillips (Ken) of Sigel, Charles Schrecengost (Kathy), Cathy Lockwood (Gary), Sally Schrecengost and all of Brookville. She is also survived by 54 nieces and nephews, and their spouses and children.

She adored her family, and treasured the time spent with her grandchildren fondly known to them as Nana.

She loved reading, crocheting, traveling, scrapbooking, her card club, daises, and Elvis.

She organized many bus trips to the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City over the years.

She also played a key role in the success of her husband’s trucking career. Complementing and supporting his efforts 24 hours a day.

Mazie valued the simple stuff like mailing greeting cards, taking time to pick up the phone just to talk. No matter how tired she was she would take time to bake someone a pie.

She was preceded in death by twin infant daughters, by her parents, a brother Thomas Schrecengost, and also infant brother and sister.

Friends may call Monday, March 9, 2015 from 7pm-9pm and Tuesday, March 10, 2015 1pm-3pm and 5pm-9pm at McKinney Funeral Home 345 Main St. Brookville, PA. and are invited to attend the funeral service Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 10am at Immaculate Conception Church in Brookville, Pa. with The Rev. William Laska officiating.

Interment will take place at the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rose Twp., Jefferson Co., Pa.
