GASKILL TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Charges have been filed against a Sykesville teen who allegedly fled from a traffic stop on Route 119.
Court documents indicate the Punxsutawney-based State Police filed criminal charges against 19-year-old Frank James Hulton, of Sykesville.
According to a criminal complaint, around 10:22 p.m. on July 25, Punxsutawney-Based State Police observed a black Chevrolet Cobalt with three male passengers traveling south on State Route 119 and turning left onto Mill Street, in Gaskill Township, Jefferson County. Police began to follow the vehicle, which then reportedly made a right turn onto Aloe Park Road without using a turn signal and then accelerated to a high rate of speed.
The complaint indicates the trooper began to speed up to catch the vehicle to conduct a traffic stop and after traveling at speeds of approximately 68 to 70 miles per hour, the trooper was able to see the tail lights of the vehicle going around a curve and then activated his emergency lights. The trooper then continued traveling at a high rate of speed until the vehicle was in his sight and then activated his siren.
According to the complaint, the vehicle failed to stop at a clearly posted stop sign at the intersection of Aloe Park Road and Robertsville Road, but then came to a stop on Robertsville Road, approximately .34 miles from where the trooper had activated his siren.
The following charges were filed against Hulton through Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock’s office on September 9:

– Turning Movements And Required Signals, Summary
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. on October 4 with Judge Mizerock presiding.
