Ted E. Bish

Ted E. Bish, 81, of Punxsutawney, died Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born March 11, 1933, in Porter Township, a son of the late Katherine (Lettie) and C. Earl Bish.

On Oct. 1, 1955, he married Natalie A. (Bowser) Bish, who survives.

Ted was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Valier United Methodist Church.

He worked as a supervisor for T.W. Phillips Gas and Oil Company for over 30 years.

Ted enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and golf.

He was a member of the American Legion, John W. Jenks Lodge No. 534, the Coudersport Consistory and the Jaffa Shrine.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include two children, Douglas E. Bish and wife Grace of Indianapolis, Indiana and Debra A. Santos and husband Robert of Indiana, Pa.; four grandchildren, Melissa A. Sika and husband Chad, Melinda A. Bish, Bethany M. Santos and Michael D. Santos and wife Maggie L. Santos; five brothers, Dick, Jay, Bill, Tom and Dale Bish; a sister, Earla “Sis” Wachob; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2015, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney. A masonic service will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2015, at the funeral home. A private funeral service will be held for the family.

Interment will be in Valier Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Patient Care Fund at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
