Teen Accused of Car Theft in Summerville Waives Hearing

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – A teen accused of stealing a car in Summerville Borough waived his hearing on Tuesday afternoon.

According to court documents, during a preliminary hearing at 1:37 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, the following charge against 18-year-old Seamus Oskar Gross , of Kittanning, was waived for court:

– Theft By Unlawful Taking – Movable Property, Felony 2

The charges was transferred to the Jefferson County Court of Common Pleas.

Gross remains free on $10,000.00 unsecured bail.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, during the morning of December 14, 2021, a known victim contacted Punxsutawney-based State Police to report that someone had stolen her 2017 Nissan Altima.

Around 8:20 p.m., later that day, Warren-based State Police located the stolen vehicle in possession of Seamus Oskar Gross and a known woman. The woman admitted to participating in the theft of the vehicle.

Gross was arraigned by Judge Bazylak’s office on March 1.

Charges against the known woman have not been filed as of Thursday, March 3, 2022.
