Teen Accused of Raping 14-Year-Old Girl in Redbank Township

Police sirenREDBANK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – An 18-year-old man has been accused of raping a 14-year-old girl in Redbank Township, Clarion County.

According to court documents, the New Bethlehem Police Department filed criminal charges against 18-year-old Devon Philip Ward, of Creekside, Pa.

According to a criminal complaint, the incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. on July 7, 2016, at Alcola Park, in Redbank Township.

The complaint states that “(Devon Philip Ward) had forcible sexual intercourse with a known, 14-year-old female relative.”

“This occurred while at a relative’s camper trailer,” the complaint continues.

Based on his investigation, Officer Spencer filed a criminal complaint in Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey C. Miller’s office.

Ward was arraigned at 10:50 p.m. on July 14 in front of Judge Miller on the following charges:

– Rape Forcible Compulsion, Felony 1
– Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Person Less Than 16 Yrs Age, Felony 1

Unable to post $100,000.00 monetary bail, Ward was lodged in the Clarion County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. on July 19 with Judge Miller presiding.
