Teen Cited for Running Stop Sign Following Crash in Pine Creek Township

PINE CREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a teen driver was cited for running a stop sign and causing a crash in Pine Creek Township late last week.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 6:22 p.m. on July 29, a two-vehicle crash occurred on US 322 at its intersection with State Route 1830, in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 18-year-old Brooke E. Emery, of Brookville, was operating a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, traveling north on State Route 1830/Fuller Road, when she failed to come to a complete stop at a posted stop sign at the intersection with US 322.

According to police, Emery’s vehicle was then struck by a 2008 Buick Lucerne, operated by 33-year-old Danielle E. Cummings, of Brookville, that was traveling west on US 322. Emery’s vehicle then struck a Do Not Enter sign before coming to a final rest.

Police say Cummings was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, while Emery was not.

No injures were reported.

Cummings’ vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by McPherson Auto Body.

Emery’s vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.

Pine Creek Volunteer Fire Department also assisted at the scene.

Emery was cited for a stop sign violation.
