Teen Driver Loses Control, Hits Guide Rail Along Reynoldsville Sykesville Road

WINSLOW TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a driver lost control of his vehicle and hit a guide rail along Reynoldsville Sykesville Road in Winslow Township on New Year’s Day.

According to police, around 6:54 p.m. on January 1, a one-vehicle crash occurred on Reynoldsville Sykesville Road just north of Shinbone Road.

Police say 19-year-old David J. Smith, of DuBois, was operating a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer, traveling north on Reynoldsville Sykesville Road, negotiating a lefthand curve, when he lost control of his vehicle on the slush-covered roadway. The vehicle then traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a guide rail.

Smith was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
