Teen Flown to Altoona Following Brookville Area Crash

UNION TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Brookville teen was flown to an Altoona area hospital following a crash yesterday in Union Township, Jefferson County.

Police say the crash occurred around 1:50 p.m. and involved a 16-year-old Brookville male and a 17-year-old Brookville male.

A 2001 Ford Explorer – operated by the 16-year-old male – was traveling north on Roseville Sigel Road and attempting to turn onto Maplevale Road when its driver failed to make the turn and slid into a ditch.

The driver and a 17-year-old male passenger were transported to Brookville Hospital for treatment of possible injuries.

The passenger was subsequently flown to Altoona Hospital by Stat MedEvac.

According to police, neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.

The driver was cited for driving too fast.

Corsica Volunteer Fire Dept, Jefferson County EMS, and Leadbetter’s Towing assisted at the scene.
