Teen Injured in Rollover Crash on Route 219

BLOOM TWP., Pa. (EYT) – According to DuBois-based State Police, a one-car accident occurred on Saturday afternoon on State Route 219, in Bloom Township, Clearfield County.

Police say around 10:24 a.m., a 16-year-old Grampian male was traveling north on Chestnut Grove Highway (Route 219), near Irishtown Road, in a 2005 Suzuki Forenza. The teen lost control of the Suzuki while negotiating a left curve in the roadway.

The teen subsequently over-corrected, causing the car to cross the opposing lane of travel while spinning approximately 180 degrees. The vehicle then exited the south side of the roadway, struck an embankment with its right side, and overturned.

The vehicle came to a final rest facing north in the southbound lane of Route 219.

No airbags were deployed.

The teen was using his seat belt and suffered suspected minor injuries.

The teen was issued a traffic citation.

Brady Volunteer Fire Department and EMS assisted at the scene.
