Teen Passenger Seriously Injured, Flown to UPMC Altoona After Vehicle Crashes into Utility Pole

PINE CREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Brookville teen was flown to UPMC Altoona following a crash on Sunday afternoon on Knox Dale Road in Pine Creek Township.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 2:23 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 18-year-old Halie R. Dennison, of Brookville, was traveling south on State Route 2023 (Knox Dale Road), in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County, and she lost control of her 2011 Kia Sedona while negotiating a left curve in the road.

The vehicle impacted a utility pole to the west of the roadway. After impact, the vehicle overturned onto its passenger’s side facing north in the southbound lane of the road where it came to a final rest.

Multiple airbags deployed inside the vehicle.

Dennison was transported to Penn Highlands Brookville Emergency Room for treatment of minor injuries.

A 16-year-old female passenger, of Brookville, was transported via helicopter to UPMC Altoona for suspected serious injuries.

Both occupants were using seat belts.

McPherson Towing removed the vehicle from the scene.

Jefferson County EMS, Pine Creek Volunteer Fire Department, and Penelec assisted at the scene.

Dennison was charged with a traffic violation.
