The Real Group Concert to Perform at Clarion University on October 16

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – The Real Group, an internationally acclaimed a cappella group from Sweden, is presenting a concert on Wednesday, October 16, at Clarion University.

The event begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Marwick-Boyd auditorium.

Everyone is welcome to attend to hear these amazing world-class musicians.

Clarion University Chamber Singers commissioned The Real Group founder Anders Edenroth to compose a new choral composition celebrating a historic moment of reconciliation and forgiveness that happened in Wales in 1949.

The new choral composition, “Dear Enemies,” tells the story of a choir from Lubeck, Germany, that traveled to perform at the International Choral Festival held in the Welsh town of Llangollen.

The members of the choir were the first Germans to travel to Wales after the war. At the train station, they were warmly greeted with hugs, flowers, and kisses by the people of Wales.

The Chamber Singers plan to celebrate and honor this historic event by performing “Dear Enemies” when they compete at the Llangollen International Choir Festival in July 2020.

The Chamber Singers previously performed at the festival in 2016, and came home champions by placing third in the Youth Choir Division of the Choir of the World competition.

Tickets for the concert are $25.00 to $35.00 and are available by calling 814-393-2436, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, or by visiting clarionuniversitytickets.com.

Tickets will also be sold in Marwick-Boyd lobby beginning at 4:00 p.m. on October 16.

Proceeds from The Real Group’s concert will be used for the Chamber Singers’ travel expenses.
