Theodore “Ted” Blair Kerr Sr., age 78, of Punxsutawney Pa., passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016, at the Family Hospice Center in Pittsburgh.
He was born on August 2, 1937, to the late Harry B. and Inez (Pifer)Kerr, in Henderson Twp., Pa.
On June 4, 1961, he married Harriet D. (Swineford) Kerr, at the Paradise Church in Henderson Twp.
Ted was a Christian and believed in the Lord. He loved to go bowling and he enjoyed the outdoors; especially fishing, camping and working in his garden. He was a great father to his children and he became a wonderful grandfather.
In addition to his wife, Ted is survived by two sons; Ted (Patty) Kerr Jr. and Tim (Laura) Kerr; one daughter; Susan (Jim) Fillhart; three brothers, James, Dale and Dave Kerr; one sister, Kathy Bowser; four granddaughters, Tiffanee Uplinger, Heather Rishel, Jenna Fillhart, Alyssa Kerr; five grandsons, Jakob Fillhart, Justin Kerr, Shane Kerr, Derek Kerr, Luke Fillhart; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers; Curtis Kerr and Ed Kerr; and one sister, Ann Pifer.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, May 15, 2016, from 2-5p.m., at the McKinney-d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville PA, 15825.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 16, 2016, at the Roseville Independent Chapel, 3598 Route 322, Brookville PA, 15825, beginning at 11 a.m., and officiated by the Rev. Jim Fillhart.
Interment will take place at Paradise Cemetery in Henderson Twp., Jefferson Co., Pa.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Nehemiah Building Fund for the Roseville Independent Chapel, 3598 Route 322, Brookville PA, 15825.
