Theresa M. “Terry” Woodford

Theresa M. “Terry” Woodford, 84, of 434 Bayard Street, Kane, died Sunday afternoon, October 25, 2015 at her daughter’s home on Township Line Road near Kane.

Born October 22, 1931 in Kittanning, she was the daughter of Fred and Marie Lux Hooks. On August 2, 1963 in Ridgway, she married Charles F. Woodford, Jr., who died in 1972.

Terry was well-known as a housekeeper, bartender and cook in various establishments in Kane. Earlier, she had worked at Stackpole in Kane.

She was a member of VFW Post #1132, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the former Loyal Order of Moose, all in Kane.

Surviving are three daughters, Barbara (Bill) Sorvelli of Warren, Donna (Greg) Johnson and Marion Armstrong, both of Kane; a son, John (Cynthia) Woodford in Kentucky; her twin sister Elmira Smodik in Ohio and a brother, Harold Hooks in Virginia. Nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceding her in death, besides her husband and parents, are a son Charles Wonders, a daughter Kathryn Ackley, a sister Jean Hooks and brothers Abner and Tom Hooks.

A memorial service will be held privately at the convenience of her family.
