Third Man Arrested in Punxsy Child Sex Case

crime-newsPUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – Police in Punxsutawney have filed multiple child pornography-related offenses against an Indiana, Pa. man, marking the third arrest made in the case.

Court documents indicate 22-year-old Zachary James Herter, of Indiana, is facing felony child pornography charges following an investigation by Punxsutawney Borough Police.

According to a criminal complaint, on November 9, 2015, the minor victim was interviewed by Pat Berger, Western Pa. Care for Kids.

The complaint, filed on November 19, states that during the interview, the victim stated that she sent Zachary James Herter several nude pictures of herself and that she was private messaging him on his Facebook account from June 2015 through November 2015.

Herter allegedly requested and received several nude pictures of the victim showing her nude breasts, buttocks, and vaginal area, the complaint indicates.

Herter allegedly made comments about each picture and requested more, the complaint continues.

The victim provided her Facebook account and copies of the photographs to Officer Andrekovich, of Punxsutawney Borough Police, and text of their conversations were obtained, according to the complaint.

Based on the investigation, Officer Andrekovich requested a warrant of arrest be issued for Herter.

He faces the following charges:

– Child Pornography, Felony 3, (seven counts)
– Corruption of Minors, Misdemeanor 1, (seven counts)

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on December 22 in front of Magisterial District Judge Douglas Robert Chambers.

Court records show that two other men – Jacob William Tyler Fanus and Ky Kharee Stiver – were charged on November 19 under the same incident number.
