Thomas A. Kunselman, Sr.

Thomas A. Kunselman, Sr., 71, of Summerville, died the evening of Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Penn Highlands Dubois following a period of declining health.

Born in Coolspring on September 27, 1950, he was the son of the late Alonzo and Jessie Deemer Kunselman.

He currently attended Summerville United Methodist Church.

Prior to his retirement he was employed at Miller Welding as a welder.

On April 10, 1993 at Elon College, NC, he married the former Janet R. Gaffney. She survives.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but he loved talking and visiting with people and making them laugh.

In addition to his wife, Janet, he is survived by his sons, Thomas A. (Angela) Kunselman, Jr. and Jessy E. Kunselman; his daughter, Melissa L. Thompson; his brothers, Robert (Penny) Kunselman, Dave (Randi) Kunselman, Kenny (Loraine) Kunselman, Jim (Luella) Kunselman, and Don (Faith) Kunselman; his sister, Betty (Leroy) Rhines; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Those preceding him in death in addition to his parents are his brothers, John, Butch and Raymond Kunselman; and his sisters, Shirley Himes and Myra Hill.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 31, 2021 from 12-2PM at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA.

A funeral service will follow at 2PM at the funeral home with Pastor Diane Hetrick, officiating.

Interment will follow in Vandervort Cemetery, Clover TWP, Jefferson County.

Covid-19 restrictions and protocols will be observed for all services held for Mr. Kunselman.

His family suggests memorial donations be made in his memory to United Methodist Church of Summerville,PA.
