Thomas L. Anderson

Thomas L. Anderson, age 94, of South Eighth Street, DuBois, PA, died Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

Born May 3, 1921 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas A. & Irene (Langford) Anderson.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy as a signalman during World War II in the European Theatre.

On June 1, 1946, he married Dorothy S. (Watt) Anderson. She preceded him in death in December of 2009.

Tom retired as treasurer of Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad after 43 years of service, a subsidiary of the United States Steel Corporation. He was a long time member of the Board of Directors of the Bessemer System Federal Credit Union. He was also an avid golfer and bowler.

He is survived by a son, Thomas L. Anderson, Jr. and his wife, Linda of DuBois, PA, three grandchildren (Michele Joseph and her husband, David; Tracie Shannon and her husband, Dennis; and Aimee Megargee and her husband, Michael) and five great grandchildren (McKenzie and Logan Shannon; Emily Joseph; and Elizabeth and Alexis Megargee).

He was preceded in death by his siblings: Albert, Margaret, Lawrence, Mary and Robert.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2016 from 1-3 P.M. at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 11 A.M. from the Goble Baronick Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Felt officiating.

Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home.

Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Park in Pittsburgh, PA.
