Thomas P. McElhinny, 98, of Rt. 36 Brookville, Pa., passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2014, at Forbes Hospice at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Born on September 17, 1915, in Pittsburgh, Pa., he was the son of Lena Blanc.
He married Margaret T. Petras on February 28, 1938, in Wheeling, WV; she preceded him in death on March 23, 2004.
He worked for over 30 years as a driller for National Fuel Gas Co.
He was a member of the Heath Twp. Sportsman’s Club.
He is survived by two sons, Ronald J. McElhinny of Brookville, Pa. and Francis S. McElhinny of Lancaster, Pa., three grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by seven sisters.
Visitation hours are on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Funeral services are on Friday, January 17, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at McKinney Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, Pa. 15825, with the Rev. William Laska officiating.
Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Rose Twp., Jefferson Co., Pa.
