UDPATE: Thousands Affected by Nationwide Comcast Outage

Comcast says the company began receiving outage reports around 6:30 a.m.

At 12:42 p.m., the number of Comcast outages reported on Down-Detector.com peaked at 17,033.

Services to most areas were restored by 1:30 p.m.

“We have repaired the temporary network interruption that impacted some of our services this morning. Our engineers continue to work on this issue and almost all services have already been restored. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused our customers,” the company said in a statement Monday afternoon.

Outages were reported throughout Western Pennsylvania and several major metropolitan areas, including Baltimore, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia, Portland, Seattle, and Washington, DC.
