Threat of Storms Remain in Forecast for Saturday

forecastJEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – According to sources, thunderstorms may threaten outdoor activities on Saturday.

The National Weather Service indicates showers and thunderstorms are likely for Jefferson County and surrounding areas throughout the day.

In the late afternoon, thunderstorms may be strong and may bring damaging winds for the region.

According to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski, residents from Detroit to Washington, D.C. will want to monitor the weather closely on Saturday.

Winds capable of downing trees and power lines throughout the designated regions will be one of the main threats from the storms on Saturday, according to Accuweather.

Severe storms – including thunderstorm winds, hail, and torrential downpours – may jeopardize afternoon and evening activities.

Those with outdoor plans should be vigilant and be prepared to seek shelter.
