Three Dead in Head-On Collision on Rt. 28/66

police_line_11MANOR TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Three people were killed in a head-on collision on Route 28/66 in Manor Township, Armstrong County Sunday morning.

Sources say the three-vehicle accident happened around 3 a.m. when a Chrysler sedan driven by Gregory W. Johns, 46, of Worthington, collided head-on with a Subaru Outback operated by Alex J. Davis, 21, of McGrann.

Emergency personnel on the scene say one of the vehicles was traveling on the wrong side of the road.

Armstrong Chief Deputy Coroner Robert Bellas pronounced both drivers dead a the scene.

A passenger in Davis’ vehicle, Joseph Danahey Jr., 27, of Verona, was also killed in the accident.

Another passenger in Davis’ vehicle Michael Danahey, 26, of Kittanning, was flown to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh for treatment of major injuries.

Sources say a third vehicle was also involved in the crash after the initial impact. Two occupants of the vehicle suffered minor injuries.

Police have not yet released specific details on the accident.
