Three Escape Injury in Route 119 Crash

HENDERSON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say a one-vehicle accident occurred around 5:00 a.m. on February 19, on State Route 119, in Henderson Township, Jefferson County.

Codey D. Schlemmer, 28, of Punxsutawney, lost control of his 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, when he failed to negotiate a left hand curve on the very icy roadway, according to police.

He traveled off the east berm of SR 119 and impacted the guide rails which were located approximately 3 feet off of the roadway, police say.

Due to the impact of the right front tire with guide rail, the vehicle was rendered disabled.

Schlemmer and his passengers, Kenneth A. Miller, 19, of Punxsutawney, and Andrew A. Miller, 26, of Reynoldsville, were all wearing seat belts and were not injured.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by South Side Towing.

Big Run Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
