Three Hurt in Jefferson County Collision

OLIVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 9:15 a.m. on February 18, a two-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 36, 2362 feet south of Hoffman Hollow Road, in Oliver Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, 45-year-old Edelyne A. Henrice, of Punxsutawney, and 60-year-old Susan L. Lefcowitz, also of Punxsutawney, were involved in the collision.

Police say Henrice was traveling south on SR 36 in a 2001 Lexus and Lefcowitz was traveling north on SR 36 in a 2008 Dodge Avenger. Henrice was negotiating a right hand curve in the roadway and traveled across the center line and onto the northbound lane of travel.

The left front fender of her Lexus impacted the Dodge’s left front fender.

The Lexus came to a final rest at impact, and the Dodge traveled approximately 171 feet from impact to a final rest on the southbound shoulder.

Both drivers were using seat belts and suffered minor injuries.

A passenger in Lefcowitz’s vehicle, 62-year-old Robert R. Kountz, of Punxsutawney, also suffered minor injuries.

Jefferson County EMS transported all three individuals to Punxsutawney Emergency Room.
