Three Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 119

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85-300x225WINSLOW TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say around 5:10 p.m. on June 5, a two-vehicle crash occurred on State Route 119 (Buffalo Pittsburgh Highway), north of Sykesville School Road, in Winslow Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 26-year-old Emily S. Hale, of Reynoldsville, and 36-year-old Charles S. Brown, of Punxsutawney, were involved in the collision.

Hale was traveling southbound on SR 119 in a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. Brown was also southbound on SR 119 in a 2007 Jeep Wrangler and was stopped due to a vehicle turning left into a driveway in front of him, according to police.

Hale failed to stop her Chevrolet within a safe distance and impacted the rear of the Jeep.

The Chevrolet came to a final rest on the southbound shoulder, and the Jeep came to a final rest in a yard on Sykes Street Extension.

Both units were facing a southerly direction.

Hale and two female passengers, ages 4 and 1, were injured in the collision.

Sykesville Ambulance transported them to Penn Highlands DuBois.

The severity of the injuries is unknown.

Hale was using a seat belt, and the children were using child safety seats.

Brown was not injured; he was using a seat belt.

Hale was issued a traffic violation.

State police were assisted at the scene by Sykesville Ambulance, DuSan Ambulance, and Sandy Township Fire Department.
