Three Teens Escape Injury in Jefferson County Rollover Crash

OLIVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 5:30 p.m. on October 5, a one-vehicle accident occurred on London Road, south of Clark Road, in Oliver Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, a 17-year-old male, of Punxsutawney, was traveling east on London Road when he lost control of his 2003 Chevrolet Silverado as a result of speed and inexperience.

The pickup traveled from the right side of London Road, crossed into the oncoming lane of the left side of London Road while continuing out of control, police say.

The vehicle then began to rotate counterclockwise before the front driver’s side tire made contact with a small embankment on the north shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle continued to rotate counterclockwise, then rolled over, coming to a final rest on its roof.

The 17-year-old driver and two other 17-year-old males, also of Punxsutawney, were using seat belts and were not injured.

The driver of the vehicle was charged with a traffic violation.

Kelly Chrysler Towing assisted at the scene.
