CANOE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police have released details surrounding a February 20 motor vehicle accident in Canoe Township, Indiana County.
The accident happened around 9:55 a.m. on Johnsonburg Road, just south of Casaday Drive.
Police say Marcella A. Stamler, 24, of Rossiter, was attempting to enter Johnsonburg Road from a private driveway and failed to see an oncoming vehicle operated by Esther C. Schmucker, 18, of Glen Campbell.
The collision caused disabling damage to both vehicles.
Both drivers and a passenger in Schmucker’s vehicle – Katie A. Schmucker, 21, of Glen Campbell – were transported to Punxsutawney Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
Stamler was cited with a traffic violation.
Rossiter Volunteer Fire Department, Jefferson County EMS, and South Side Towing assisted at the scene.
