Top 6 Teams Stay Put in D9Sports.com Football Rankings

Led by No. 1 Karns City, the top six teams remain the same in the Oct. 5 First Commonwealth Bank/D9Sports.com District 9 Top 10 Football Rankings.

The 6-0 Gremlins hold onto the top spot after a 56-20 win over Union, the 14th straight regular-season win for Karns City. Clarion (5-1), DuBois (4-2), Ridgway (6-0), Redbank Valley (5-0), which was off, and Clearfield (4-2) round out the top six.

While the top six remains the same, there was some movement between seventh and ninth with Kane moving up two spots to seventh after a last-second field goal gave the Wolves a 9-7 win over Brockway (4-2), which dropped the Rovers one spot to eighth. Elk County Catholic (5-1) fell two spots to ninth after a 35-7 loss at home to Ridgway, while Curwensville (5-1) remains at 10th after a big win over St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy.

A pair of Top 10 matchups are in the cards for this week with Kane traveling to Curwensville and Brockway heading to Johnsonburg to take on Ridgway.
