Tractor Trailer, Car Collide on I-80, Washington Township

state_policeWASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Dubois-based State Police say a two-vehicle crash occurred on March 3 around 4:06 p.m. on Interstate 80 in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, Adam P. Braun, 23, of Reynoldsville, was traveling eastbound in the right lane of Interstate 80 in a 2005 Mercury Montego and was in front of a 2012 International Harvester truck tractor driven by Darko Trajcev, 29, of Westmont, IL, also in the right lane.

Braun’s vehicle began to slide on the roadway, spinning 360 degrees twice.

The truck tractor (with a trailer in tow), swerved to the left to avoid Braun’s vehicle, but was unable to avoid impact and slid into the trailer.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and neither was injured.

Braun was charged with a traffic violation.
