Tractor-Trailer Pushes Passenger Vehicle into Median of I-80 in Union Township

UNION TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a tractor-trailer collided with a passenger vehicle and pushed it into the median of Interstate 80 late last week.

According to DuBois-based State Police, around 9:00 a.m. on November 24, a two-vehicle crash took place on Interstate 80 westbound near mile marker 105.

Police say 61-year-old William H. Anderson, of Morrisdale, was operating a 2021 Freightliner tractor-trailer traveling west and attempting to merge into the left lane when he struck a 2002 Chrysler 300, operated by 62-year-old Timothy D. Richardson, of Akron, Ohio, that was in the left lane.

Anderson’s vehicle pushed Richardson’s vehicle into the median where it came to a final rest. Anderson’s vehicle then came to a controlled stop along the north berm.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and no injuries were reported.

Anderson was cited for a turning movement and required signal violation.
