Traffic Alert: Route 36 Closure in Punxsutawney Borough Scheduled for May 8

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Route 36 between Sycamore Street and Gilpin Street in Punxsutawney Borough is scheduled to close starting May 8 for repairs to the Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad bridge.

The closure is expected to begin on May 8 at 7:00 a.m.

The contractor for the railroad will be performing repairs to the bridge over Route 36 near Sycamore Street.

The repairs are expected to take approximately two weeks, with expected completion on May 21 at 5:00 p.m.

A detour utilizing Route 436 and Route 119 will be in effect while crews are working on the bridge.

Route 36 will be open when no work is being performed on the bridge.
