Trash Burn Leads to Brush Fire Near Local Business

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – Brookville Borough Police say a brush fire occurred along State Route 28 in a field beside Jack’s Boot Shop.

According to police, on March 30 around 7:43 p.m. they were dispatched to a report of a brush fire located next to Jack’s Boot Shop on Route 28.

An unknown female and her spouse discovered the blaze and called 911, police say.

Brookville police arrived on scene and evacuated the employees from Jack’s Boot Shop.

Brookville Fire Department arrived on scene and got the fire under control, according to police.

After an investigation into the cause of the fire, it was revealed that a trash burn was not properly contained, which allowed it to spread to surrounding brush, police say

Police determined the fire was not set intentionally and no charges were filed.
