PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Members of the Pennsylvania State Police, Troop C, Punxsutawney, have announced that Camp Cadet will be held at Clarion University, July 19-24, 2015.

Camp Cadet applications are available at schools in the Troop C area.

This is not a camp for troubled kids. The camp is designed to bring a better understanding of law enforcement activities to young people while living in an atmosphere of an actual State Police Training School.

Emphasis is placed on self-discipline and the ability to make new friends and work with them as a team.

This is a very physical camp that requires a lot of interaction and participation.

Camp programs include, but are not limited to, radar demonstrations, a first-hand look at a State Police Helicopter, the Special Emergency Response Team (S.E.R.T.), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.), the United States Secret Service, the PA Fish Commission, the PA National Guard, and other law enforcement agencies.

In addition, volleyball, swimming, canoeing and other recreational activities will be included.

The camp is open to all boys and girls residing within the Troop C coverage area. To be eligible for consideration to Camp Cadet, a boy or girl must be at least 12 years old, but no older than 14 years old.
