Trooper Brad Wilson Benefit Ride Set for Today

BROCKWAY, Pa. (EYT) – Pennsylvania State Trooper Brad Wilson Benefit Run will be held on Saturday, June 28.

Registration will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Brockway Sons of Italy Club.

All street legal vehicles are welcome.

The cost is $10.00 per person, and the event is rain or shine.

The run will end at the DuBois VFW Post #813.

A ceremony to honor Trooper Wilson will be held at the Brockway Park at 3:30 p.m.

There will be food, raffles, and a cash bar with DJ Steel Horse entertainment from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The band Remedy X will playing from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The ride is sponsored by Jefferson County A.B.A.T.E.; Clarion County A.B.A.T.E.; American Legion Riders Post #17; DuBois Humanitarian Riders; Tri-County H.O.G.; and the Brockway Sons of Italy.

The Brockway Sons of Italy Club is located at 1049 7th Ave, Brockway, Pa.

The DuBois VFW Post #813 is located at 229 West Long Avenue, DuBois, Pa.

State Trooper Brad Wilson was shot on September 26, 2013, while trying to serve a warrant at a residence along Cemetery Hill Road, just outside of Brockway, in Jefferson County.

All funds raised by this event will be put into a fund for Trooper Wilson that is managed by his family.

Wilson has been in a Georgia hospital for specialized rehabilitation.

The funds will help defray the expenses to make his home handicapped accessible and other related costs.

He returned home yesterday, and it is anticipated that he will be able to attend the event tomorrow.
