Truck Hits Railroad Bridge in Perry Township

PERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a truck struck the bottom of a railroad bridge in Perry Township on Wednesday.

According to police, the crash took place around 6:17 a.m. on December 1, on Valier Drive Near Kashmir Road.

Police say 38-year-old Abdoulaye Bah, of Tonawanda, New York, was operating a 2016 Hino 268 box truck traveling north on Valier Drive and failed to observe the clearly posted low clearance sign on the railroad bridge and continued on Valier Drive. The roof of the truck then struck the bottom of the bridge, which caused the roof to separate from the truck. Bah continued north on Valier Drive and stopped at Perry Township Fire Department. The truck was subsequently towed by Bricen Towing.

Bah was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

He was cited for driving on a suspended or revoked license.
