Truck Slams into Tree in Sigel Area

MILLSTONE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Emergency personnel responded to a vehicle crash early Wednesday morning.

According to a representative of Jefferson County Department of Emergency Services, they received a call around 7:46 a.m. for a one-vehicle crash where a truck struck a tree near the intersection of River Road and Hoffhill Road in Millstone Township, Elk County.

Sigel Volunteer Fire Company Station 19, Sigel Volunteer Fire Department Ward 2 Millstone Township Station 14, Clarion Hospital Ambulance Marienville Station, and Ridgeway State Police were dispatched to the scene.

According to Justin Miller, Assistant Chief of the Sigel Volunteer Fire Department, the driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries but refused transport.

“Thankfully he only had minor injuries. He got treatment from the ambulance at the scene and refused transport,” Miller said.

According to Miller, the driver reported he was traveling west on River Road when he lost control and struck the tree earlier that morning and was then forced to wait until the crash was discovered and called to get assistance.

Damage to the vehicle from the crash was severe.

The scene was cleared around 9:15 a.m.
