Two Brookville Men Face Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

policeSCRUBGRASS TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Two local men are facing charges following a traffic stop Monday on Interstate 80 westbound in Venango County.

Franklin-based State Police say 25-year-old Cayliff Scott Worling of Brookville and 23-year-old Christian Joseph Butler of Reynoldsville – are facing charges.

Police say a traffic stop was conducted around 4 p.m. near mile marker 42 after it was determined that Worling was allegedly driving with a suspended license.

A “distinct odor of marijuana was emanating from the vehicle,” according to police.

Police say a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted and cocaine, marijuana, and illegally possessed pills were allegedly found.

Police also found drug paraphernalia during the search, according to the report.

Worling faces the following charges:

  • Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor
  • Marijuana-Small Amount Personal Use, Misdemeanor
  • Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor
  • Driving While Operator Privilege Suspended Or Revoked, Summary

Butler faces the following charges:

  • Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor
  • Marijuana-Small Amount Personal Use, Misdemeanor
  • Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

Both men face preliminary hearings on May 18.
