Two Injured Following Route 322 Collision

Police sirenWINSLOW TWP., Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police responded to a two-car accident along Route 322 that occurred on June 21 in Winslow Township, Jefferson County.

Police say around 5:40 p.m. on June 21, 23-year-old Cortney R. Engle, of Reynoldsville, was traveling east on Route 322, 1,181 feet west of Yellow Brick Road, when she stopped in the lane to make a left turn.

Twenty-three-year-old Shannon M. Thompson, of Sykesville, was allegedly traveling east on Route 322 behind Engle. Police say Thompson failed to notice Engle’s vehicle had stopped and was unable to bring her 2008 Subaru Legacy to a stop, striking Engle’s 2010 Subaru Imprezza.

Both Engle and Thompson reported that they were wearing seatbelts during the accident. Both sustained minor injuries and were transported to Penn Highlands DuBois.

Reynoldsville Volunteer Fire Department and EMS assisted at the scene.
