Two Escape Injuries After Vehicle Slams into Deer in Bloom Twp.

BLOOM TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say a one-vehicle crash involving a deer occurred around 9:30 p.m. May 30 on Irishtown Road, in Bloom Township, Clearfield County.

According to police, the crash occurred as 54-year-old Kathryn A. Mitchell, of Grampian, was traveling east on Irishtown Road.

A deer jumped onto the roadway in front of Mitchell’s 2014 Yukon, and Mitchell applied her brakes but was unable to avoid collision, striking the deer head-on, police say.

Mitchell was able to pull the vehicle off the roadway before coming to a final rest.

Police say her vehicle sustained disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene.

Mitchell and her passenger 61-year-old Randy J. Mitchell, of Grampian, were both wearing seat belts at the time of the collision and were uninjured.
