Two Escape Injury in Route 36 Crash

YOUNG TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 12:20 a.m. on July 21, a two-car accident occurred on State Route 36, in Young Township, Jefferson County.

Police say the crash occurred as Zachary K. Snyder, 22, of Punxsutawney, had his vehicle, a 2013 Chevrolet Sonic, stopped in the southbound lane waiting for another car that was turning left in front of him.

James R. Doverspike, 88, of Ringold, was driving his 2015 Mercedes-Benz s550 south in the southbound lane but was unable to bring his vehicle to a stop before impacting the rear of Snyder’s vehicle, according to police.

Police say both vehicles required towing from the scene.

No one was injured in the crash. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and neither vehicle experienced air bag deployment.

Rebuck’s Southside Towing provided towing services from the scene.

Doverspike was charged with a traffic violation.
