Rollover Crash on Route 36; Two People Hospitalized

ELDRED TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to Marienville-based State Police, around 8:35 p.m. on February 21, a one-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 36, 312 feet north of Sweitzer Lane, Eldred Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 57-year-old Sandy W. Spader, of Brookville, was traveling on SR 36, and he applied his brakes after seeing the vehicle in front of him fishtail.

His 1993 Chevrolet S-10 lost traction and struck an embankment, rolled onto its passenger side, and struck the embankment two more times before coming to a final rest, facing south on the northbound lane.

Spader and his passenger, 53-year-old Shirley J. Himes, of Corsica, were using seat belts; both individuals suffered moderate injuries.

They were transported to Brookville Hospital.

Sigel and Pine Creek Fire Departments responded to the scene.
