Two Injured in Brookville Area Rollover Crash

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 7:35 p.m. on March 9, a one-car accident occurred on State Route 322, east of Haugh Hollow Road, in Union Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 79-year-old Clarence R. Evans of Fairmount City was traveling west on SR 322 in a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier and failed to negotiate a slight left curve in the roadway.

His vehicle traveled off the north berm and impacted the embankment, traveling slightly up the embankment to a point that it overturned and then came to rest on the roadway facing southwest, according to police.

Mr. Evans suffered moderate injuries.

His passenger, 77-year-old Shirley I. Evans, also of Fairmount City, suffered minor injuries.

Jefferson County EMS transported them to Brookville Hospital.

Both individuals were using seat belts.

Mr. Evans was charged with a traffic violation.

The vehicle was towed from the scene, and SR 322 was opened shortly thereafter.
