Two Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision in Young Township

A moving ambulance on it''s way to a crash site.YOUNG TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say a two-vehicle accident occurred yesterday on Harmony Road (State Route 310), south of Whitefield Lane, in Young Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, 18-year-old Alison M. Feather, of Altoona, and 57-year-old Marielynn Fairman, of Punxsutawney, were involved in the collision.

Police say this crash occurred around 4:15 p.m. as a 2000 Buick Century, driven by Feather, was attempting to make a left turn into Waltman Auto from Route 310. Fairman was traveling south on Route 310 in a 1998 Volvo S70.

According to police, the Buick turned into the path of the Volvo, and the Volvo struck the Buick’s right side. The Buick spun clockwise until coming to a final rest facing north off the western berm.

Upon impact with the Buick, the Volvo spun counterclockwise until coming to a final rest facing west across both lanes of travel, police say.

Both drivers suffered suspected minor injuries; they both were using seat belts.

Feather was charged with a traffic violation.

Jefferson County EMS, Elk Run Fire Department, and McCalmont Fire Department assisted at the scene.
