Two Jefferson County Residents Facing Charges Following Domestic Incident

REYNOLDSVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Charges have been filed against two Reynoldsville residents who were allegedly involved in a domestic altercation on Monday.

Court documents indicate the DuBois-based State Police filed criminal charges against 41-year-old Ryan Patrick Odell and 37-year-old Jessica Lynn Kulbatsky, both of Reynoldsville.

According to a criminal complaint, around 1:00 p.m. on May 10, DuBois-based State Police were dispatched to a residence on Hill Street in Reynoldsville Borough for a report of a physical domestic incident in progress.

According to the complaint, when police spoke to Jessica Kulbatsky, she indicated she was at the residence packing and loading things into a trailer when Ryan Odell arrived home and handed her paperwork, then started yelling at her and began pushing her.

Kulbatsky told police that at one point, Odell pushed her and he hit the back of her head on the door frame. She reported he then grabbed her upper arms and tried to push her down and said her arms hurt from where he grabbed her.

The complaint notes police observed red marks on Kulbatsky’s upper arms that were beginning to bruise black and blue which appeared to be recent.

Police also spoke to Odell, who reportedly stated the incident began with an argument that occurred when he got home and gave Kulbatsky paperwork resulting from an incident earlier in the day.

According to the complaint, Odell told police Kulbatsky began pushing him and hitting him, causing bloody scratches to the right side of his neck and abrasions on his left forearm and wrist, around his mouth, and near his left eye. He reported Kulbatsky also bit his left forearm.

The complaint states police observed the injuries Odell described and determined they were recent injuries not from earlier in the day.

The complaint also notes Kulbatsky told police that she and Odell had been pushing each other when the verbal altercation escalated.

Odell and Kulbatsky were arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana at 7:45 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., respectively, on the following charges:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

They were lodged in the Jefferson County Jail on $20,000.00 each monetary bail.

They were both released on May 11 after their bail was changed to unsecured by “Judicial Discretion,” according to the court documents.

Preliminary hearings are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. and 3:15 p.m., respectively, on May 25, with Judge Inzana presiding.
