Two Killed, Another Seriously Injured in Boggs Township Collision

BOGGS TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Two people were killed and another seriously injured in a collision that happened on Crooked Sewer Road in Boggs Township on Tuesday morning. 

According to Clearfield-based State Police, the accident occurred on Tuesday, June 28, around 9:57 a.m., on Crooked Sewer Road, just south of Jericho Lane, in Boggs Township, Clearfield County.

Police say a 2013 Chevrolet Captiva operated by a known 69-year-old Madera woman was traveling south on Crooked Sewer Road and, for unknown reasons, traveled into the oncoming lane of traffic.

The Chevrolet then collided head-on with a 2018 Nissan Rogue driven by a known 78-year-old Brisbin man.

The operator of the Nissan attempted to avoid the collision by traveling onto the berm of the roadway.

The driver of the Chevrolet and the passenger of the Nissan–a 68-year-old Brisbin woman–were pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

The operator of the Nissan was airlifted from the scene by STAT MedEvac to UPMC Altoona to be treated for suspected serious injuries, police say.

Bigler Boyz Towing removed the vehicles from the scene.

Bigler-Jackson-Woodland Fire Company, Clearfield Fire Department, Clearfield EMS, and PennDOT also assisted at the scene.

The names of the individuals involved in the crash were not released.
