Brookville, Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, two additional Brookville residents have been arrested in connection with the manufacture of methamphetamine.
On March 4, the Jefferson County Drug Task Force and Troop C Vice unit arrested 28-year-old Farah Elizabeth Paul and 29-year-old Brandon Alan Kiehl, both of Brookville, in connection with a drug investigation.
Through the investigation, it was discovered that Kiehl and Paul provided Michael Guthrie, who was arrested on February 25, with the necessary ingredients needed to manufacture methamphetamine.
During a preliminary arraignment yesterday, Judge Gregory M Bazylak, charged both Paul and Kiehl with the following offenses:
– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Conspiracy – Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver
– Possession Red Phosphorus, etc w/ Intent to Manufacture Controlled Substance, Felony
– Knowingly Possessing Ephedrine, Misdemeanor
– Deposits, Stores, Disposes Chemical Waste, Felony 3
– Risking Catastrophe, Felony 3
– Operating a Methamphetamine Lab, Felony 2 – 2 counts
Unable to post $100,000.00 straight cash bail each, both individuals were lodged in the Jefferson County jail.
Both are awaiting preliminary hearing.
According to police, Troop C Vice Unit and members from the Jefferson County Drug Task Force have been investigating the manufacturing of methamphetamine in the Jefferson County area since August of 2013.
On February 25, a search warrant was applied for and granted for 76 Manor Lane, Brookville, Pa.
A search was executed by the Pennsylvania State Police Clandestine Lab team on a residence occupied by 42-year-old Michael Paul Guthrie at the above location. Upon the execution of the search warrant, a methamphetamine lab was allegedly located inside the dwelling.
Guthrie was taken into custody and the following charges were filed at District Judge Bazylak’s office:
– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Operating a Methamphetamine Lab, Felony 1
– Possession Red Phosphorus, etc w/ Intent to Manufacture Controlled Substance, Felony
– Risking Catastrophe, Felony 3
– Operating a Methamphetamine Lab, Felony 2
– Deposits, Stores, Disposes Chemical Waste, Felony 3
– Knowingly Possessing Ephedrine, Misdemeanor
He was placed in the Jefferson County Jail in lieu of $100,000.00 straight cash bail.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on March 4 in front of Judge Gregory M. Bazylak; no information has been provided on the results of the hearing.
The investigation is ongoing for the distribution and manufacturing of methamphetamine in the Jefferson County area.
