Two Penn State Players Suspended for Rose Bowl

PASADENA, Calif. (EYT) – Penn State junior wide receiver Saeed Blacknall and sophomore linebacker Manny Bowen have been suspended for the Rose Bowl Game Jan. 2 and won’t play, the university announced in a statement Thursday.

The statement said the duo, who made the trip to California with the team, were suspended due to violation of team rules.

Bowen, a starter, is tied for fourth on the team in tackles with 68 including a pair of sacks.

Blacknall is the team’s sixth-leading receiver with 15 catches for 347 yards and three touchdowns. He was coming off a career-game in the Big Ten Title game victory over Wisconsin where he caught six passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns.
