Two Pickups Collide on Route 36 in Brookville Area

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85-300x225ROSE TOWNSHIP, Pa (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say a two vehicle accident occurred on July 17 around 12:10 a.m. on State Route 36 in Rose Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, Jessie D. Guthrie, 60, of Brookville, was traveling north on SR 36 in a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado when he became distracted and drifted off the southbound lane.

Guthrie’s vehicle struck a southbound 2012 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Gary E. Martz, 59, of Brookville, police say.

Upon collision, both vehicle’s driver side mirrors came into contact with each other, then Guthrie’s driver side came into contact with the rear driver side of Martz’s pickup truck, according to police.

Both vehicles came to final rest in their original lanes of travel with Guthrie’s vehicle facing north and Martz’s vehicle facing south, police say.

Both drivers received minor cuts and both refused treatment.

Guthrie was cited with with a traffic violation and charged through District Court 54-3-03.

No other information was released.
