YOUNG TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, two suspects have been identified in connection to the suspicious packages that were found in WalMart’s parking lot earlier this month.

On January 9, police reported that two suspects were identified in the January 1 incident, and charges are pending.

On New Year’s day, authorities were called to Punxsutawney Walmart for a report of two suspicious packages in the store’s parking lot.

PSP Punxsutawney, Punxsutawney VFD, and the PSP Hazardous Device and Explosive Section (HDES) responded to the incident around 7:00 a.m.

The area was blocked off and the packages were examined by HDES.

Following the investigation, it was determined that the packages were suitcases that were left in the parking lot by an unknown white male and an unknown white female.

Police say both suitcases were found to contain personal items and did not pose a danger to the public.

The names of the suspects were not released.

Police did not indicate the nature of the charges.
